About Stewart Vardaman
I was born in Jackson, Mississippi and live in Denver, Colorado, where I moved to in August of 1996. I couldn't be happier living in Denver and love the cooler climate. I am Director of Information Systems for a direct mail/internet company. Except for a few years of unambitious goofing off after I flunked out of Belhaven College, I have been working with computers as a programmer, consultant, or network administrator. I am especially proud of the fact that I am completely self-taught, mostly by reading computer books at night. I enjoy the computer industry and feel right at home with the rapid change of pace. Every 12 months, about 15% of what you know becomes obsolete, and there is at least 15% worth of new things you better learn. You can't keep pace during your regular 40-hour week; you must hit the books nights and weekends. If you aren't satisfied by just keeping your ground and want to gain some, I recommend expanding your knowledge base 25% a year. If you can do that, you will never be forced into early retirement. I enjoy reading, pool and billiards, computers, history, politics, economics, snow skiing, bike riding, cooking, and travel. I am also a big trivia buff and love playing NTN trivia at my local watering hole. | Elsewhere
